On Monday, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received a delegation of American businessmen who arrived in Ashgabat on an economic mission.

The meeting was attended by the head of the Turkmenistan-USA Business Council Eric Stewart, the head of Nicklaus Companies John Reese, the chairman of UGT Renewables Goran Raisich, the CEO and founder of Climate Compass Kevin James. Among other representatives of American companies, they came to Ashgabat to participate in the Turkmen-American business forum and expand the formats of business interaction.

The head of state and guests from the United States exchanged views on the possibilities of cooperation and prospects for the development of the Turkmen market, trade and investment partnership.

In unlocking the potential of bilateral economic dialogue, the role of the Business Council "Turkmenistan-USA" was noted, in connection with which the Turkmen leader thanked Eric Stewart for many years of activity as the head of this structure. A joint project was also carried out with Nicklaus to create the country's first Golf Center in Ashgabat.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov also welcomed joining the Business Council of UGT Renewables, which deals with integrated solutions for solar energy. Turkmenistan has set a course for a green economy and the development of renewable energy sources, supporting global efforts in the field of climate and is ready to establish partnerships in this area.

As a major energy supplier, the country also aims to modernize and decarbonize the oil and gas industry. The industry also has opportunities to work with US companies such as Climate Compass, which manages investments in emission reduction projects around the world.

American businessmen expressed their readiness to participate in important projects in Turkmenistan in the current areas of its development.
