Turkmenistan is actively developing customs cooperation with border states

Turkmen customs officers held talks with foreign colleagues to develop customs cooperation and ensure a high level of service at the borders. This was told by Chemengul Bayramova, Senior inspector of the Department of Law and International Relations of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan in an interview with the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

For example, an online meeting was recently held to study the "Sea Portal" system of the Russian Federation in order to use the experience of Russian customs officers in creating a similar system in the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi.

Negotiations were held with colleagues from Kazakhstan, during which Turkmen specialists studied the work at the border customs points of the republic to establish further cooperation.

Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan also signed cooperation agreements and exchanged experience with customs officers of Uzbekistan and Iran, which has already led to a significant increase in trade turnover with these countries.

Customs officers from Turkmenistan comply with all international standards to ensure a high level of service at the borders. This work is being carried out with the support of the UN, OSCE and within the framework of the Border Management Program in Central Asia (BOMCA).
