Turkmen scientists have developed a new high-performance grade of fine-fiber cotton
10.11.2022 | 15:49 |Breeders, with the assistance of specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment, have developed a new sort of fine-fiber cotton, yielding more than 50 quintals of cotton per hectare. The bred sort was named Yoloten-54, according to the country's state media.
This sort has been successfully tested for more than one year. In the spring of next year, the seeds will be planted on the territory of the Atchapar farming association of the Yolotan district of the Mary region.
On the outskirts of the city of Yoloten there is an experimental station, founded in 1925. Cotton varieties such as Yoloten-50, Yoloten-53, Garashsyzlyk-30, etc. were developed and bred on it, and in the near future they plan to create Yoloten-56, Yoloten-57 and even Yoloten-58.
