Turkmenistan and Turkey exchanged experience in growing and mechanized harvesting of cotton
05.11.2022 | 18:00 |Specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and the Cotton Research Institute of Turkey exchanged experience in the field of cotton cultivation and mechanization of harvesting through the mediation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
Cooperation was proposed by the Turkmen side and contributed to improving soil fertility, as well as increasing the efficiency of mechanized harvesting in both countries, Viorel Gutu, FAO sub-regional coordinator for Central Asia, told Trend.
Cooperation between Turkmenistan and FAO has been developing effectively since the country became an official member of the UN. Over the years, FAO's support has covered a wide range of areas related to food security, agriculture and environmental protection in Turkmenistan.
Today, the issue of opening a FAO country office in Ashgabat is being worked out. The organization's sub-regional office in Central Asian countries is located in Ankara.
