Oriented on making people closer

The results of the past year in the development of Turkmenistan and plans for the future were outlined in the festive address of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to his compatriots. In his speech, the head of state emphasized the key achievements of 2024, outlining the priorities for 2025, declared by the UN General Assembly as the "International Year of Peace and Trust".

Results of 2024: construction, economy, culture

2024, which passed under the motto "The Fount of Magtymguly Fragi's Mind", became an important stage in the development of the country. Among the key achievements:

Infrastructure projects: opening of modern schools, sports facilities, residential buildings, medical centers. Thus, in Ashgabat, the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology, the International Health and Rehabilitation Center and other medical institutions were put into operation.

Particular attention is paid to the continuation of the construction of the city of Arkadag, which has received a number of prestigious international awards.

Energy and transport: start of construction of the Serhetabat-Herat section of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, laying of major energy and transport-communication facilities, launch of the second stage of the Baharden and Lebap cement plants, new power plants, the Balkan-Dashoguz power transmission line, etc.

Humanitarian sphere: holding a high-level International Forum in honor of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi and a program of events on the occasion of recognizing the city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world. Opening of the cultural and park complex "Magtymguly Fragi" and a monument to the poet and thinker.

Increasing the country's sports prestige in the international arena: at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the Resolution "Friendship Games of the United Nations" initiated by Turkmenistan was adopted. Ashgabat was declared the City of New Sports Opportunities of the CIS.

Plans for 2025

The head of state outlined key priorities, primarily in the social sphere. In particular, from January 1, salaries, pensions, benefits and scholarships were increased by 10%.

"Activities to protect public health will continue to be in the state's field of vision."

"We will always pay great attention to raising an educated, erudite and patriotic generation, supporting the initiatives of young people."

Turkmenistan will continue to actively participate in strengthening peace and trust in the global arena, organizing events to mark the UN General Assembly’s declaration of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” and the 30th anniversary of neutrality.

In economic development, the focus is on modernizing industries and supporting agricultural workers.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov concluded his address with words of hope for the hard work and energy of the people, which will allow Turkmenistan to reach new heights in 2025.
