 Plans for the development of industrial cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia

The results of the visit of Russian delegations represented by members of the government of St. Petersburg and the Chelyabinsk region to Turkmenistan involve the development of joint plans for the modernization of the fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan and the creation of joint ventures.

Thus, the St. Petersburg Company “Power Machines”, which is one of the world leaders in the design and production of power equipment, plans to modernize power facilities in Turkmenistan, TASS reports citing the statement of St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov following a meeting with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

In turn, the Chelyabinsk South Ural Armature and Insulator Plant intends to localize its production in Turkmenistan. The plant is one of the leading in Russia. According to the Chelyabinsk delegation, the issue of expanding the production of polymer, porcelain and glass insulators, as well as linear fittings was discussed.

Another South Ural Company from Chelyabinsk “Neft-Service”, plans to set up a joint venture in Turkmenistan. The company manufactures oil and gas equipment, drilling wells and electronics for the oil and gas industries.

Over the past few years, cooperation between Turkmenistan and the constituent entities of the Russian Federation has reached a new level - Russia is increasing trade with Turkmenistan not only in the fuel and energy sector, but also in the processing industries.
