Turkmenistan has increased the export of products to the EU by more than 60%
10.08.2022 | 21:04 |Last year, Turkmenistan increased the export to the European Union countries by 63% compared to 2020. This information is given by the chairman of the Union of Economists of Turkmenistan, Yuri Aronsky, in an analytical commentary given for the official press.
The increasing of Turkmen exports to the EU countries reflects the strengthening of the national economy, the improvement of the quality of products, the growth of its competitiveness and compliance with international standards.
In sum, products totalling $440 million were delivered to the EU. The main export goods were chemical products, mineral fertilizers and textiles. They were bought in Greece, Italy, Romania.
The expert also notes that the natural gas supplied by Turkmenistan through Iran to Azerbaijan is mainly intended for the European countries.
At the same time, Aronsky emphasizes the importance of Turkmenistan obtaining the status of a country joining the World Trade Organization (WTO), which ultimately should strengthen the realization of the geopolitical and economic capabilities of the state.
In general, as the expert's publication notes, Turkmenistan's exports in 2021 increased by 34,8% compared to 2020.
