PETRONAS has established oil production within the framework of the Garagol-Deniz field development project
26.10.2021 | 00:15 |PETRONAS Charigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd (PCh (T) SB) has established oil production at the Garagol-Deniz West (GDZ) field located in Block 1 of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.
The oil produced in the amount of 6 thousand barrels per day from the Garagol-Deniz autonomous drilling platform was subsequently supplied to the Gas Treatment Plant and the Onshore Gas Terminal of the company.
«This year PCh (T) SB celebrates its 25th anniversary in Turkmenistan, and the start of oil production from the GDZ field demonstrates our commitment to the development of the oil and gas sector in Turkmenistan», - says Hazli Sham, Chief Executive Officer of PCh (T) SB Kassim. «In addition, mining started 54 days ahead of schedule and reached 1.3 million safe man-hours without injury».

PCh (T) SB has been operating in Turkmenistan since 1996. The company is the operator of Block 1 with a 100% participation interest. PCh (T) SB continues to develop the GDZ field as part of oil and natural gas deposits in the Block 1 Contract Area under a Production Sharing Agreement signed with the Government of Turkmenistan in 1996.
