April 2025 was the second warmest in Ashgabat
09.05.2025 | 16:25 |According to meteorological observation data, April 2025 was the second warmest April in Ashgabat for the entire period of weather record-keeping, commencing in 1891. The average monthly temperature reached +22.3 °C, falling short of the record set in 2000 by a mere 0.1 degrees Celsius.
Throughout the month, the capital experienced anomalously high temperatures. The last ten-day period proved particularly hot: on April 26th, the daily maximum reached +40.6 °C, which is 12.7 degrees Celsius above the climatic norm. This established a new absolute record for April in the history of meteorological observations. It was the first time that the temperature in this month exceeded the +40 °C mark, surpassing the previous maximum by one degree Celsius.
Nevertheless, a brief period of cooling occurred at the end of the month, with temperatures decreasing to +10…+12 °C in the region.
