Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Ethiopia agree to strengthen bilateral relations
08.04.2025 | 22:40 |On April 8, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Gedion Timotewos.
During the discussion, the parties exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Turkmenistan.
They also expressed their commitment to deepening diplomatic interaction and expanding cooperation in a number of areas, including economic development, inter-parliamentary dialogue, interaction within international organizations and strengthening people-to-people ties.
Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue multifaceted and long-term cooperation, emphasizing the importance of maintaining regular diplomatic dialogue and facilitating high-level visits to further explore areas of mutual interest.
The ministers expressed optimism about the future of relations between Ethiopia and Turkmenistan, emphasizing common opportunities for economic growth, regional stability and cooperation.
The heads of the foreign policy agencies also discussed the possibility of a high-level Ethiopian delegation participating in events scheduled to be held in Turkmenistan as part of the International Year of Peace and Trust, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.
