Oriented on making people closer

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan Atadurdy Bayramov took part in the Tokyo Marathon 2025, which was held in the capital of Japan on March 2.

This year, the global sporting event brought together more than 38 thousand participants from different countries. The Tokyo Marathon, part of the World Marathon Majors series and having the platinum status of World Athletics, annually attracts thousands of runners over a distance of 42 km 195 meters. The marathon is sponsored by the Tokyo government.

In an interview with the media, Atadurdy Bayramov noted that Turkmenistan attaches priority importance to promoting a healthy lifestyle and popularizing sports among young people. The ambassador emphasized that thanks to the comprehensive strategy initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people and implemented by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, all conditions have been created in Ashgabat for the development of sports initiatives.

The diplomat also focused on Turkmenistan's international sports initiatives that have received UN recognition. These include the General Assembly Resolutions on holding the Friendship Games, declaring June 3 as World Bicycle Day, and integrating mass cycling into public transport systems for sustainable development.

Ambassador Bayramov also mentioned active Turkmen-Japanese cooperation in sports, in particular, in preparing Turkmen judokas for major international competitions.
