Establishment of the Asian Mind Sports Association
27.02.2025 | 10:55 |The Asian Mind Sports Association (AMSA) has been established to promote mind sports and esports in Asia.
The decision to establish the association was made at an inaugural meeting held in Bangkok, attended by representatives from 29 countries. Alimjan Akaev, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, was elected as the Vice President of the association, representing Central Asia.
The primary objectives of the Asian Mind Sports Association include fostering cooperation between sports federations across Asian countries and achieving significant advancements in the field of mind sports. The association will operate under the auspices of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and will be responsible for organizing Asian championships, as well as popularizing mind games and esports.
Gordon Tang, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia, has been appointed as the Chairman of the new entity. The association's headquarters will be located in Singapore.
The association's charter was also approved at the meeting.
