Olympic Council of Asia expands Cybersport Program for the 2026 Asian Games
25.02.2025 | 12:30 |The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has announced the eleven esports disciplines that will be featured at the XX Asian Games. The Games will take place from September 19th to October 4th, 2026, in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
The decision was made at the Executive Board meeting of the OCA, held online on February 22nd. OCA Director General, Mr. Husain Al Musallam, has circulated the information to the members of the National Olympic Committees, the members of the Executive Board, the chairpersons of the OCA Standing Committees, and the Vice President of the Organizing Committee for the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya.
The approved disciplines for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya are as follows:
• Street Fighter 6
• Pokémon Unite (New)
• Honor of Kings (Replaces Arena of Valor)
• League of Legends – Asian Games version
• PUBG Mobile – Asian Games version
• Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (New)
• Dream Three Kingdoms
• NARAKA: BLADEPOINT (New)
• Gran Turismo 7 (New)
• eFootball Series (New)
• Puyo Puyo Champions (New)
The increase in the number of competitive gaming disciplines represents a significant step forward for esports, following its successful debut as a medal event at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou.
