The Voice of Turkmenistan in Belgium: The Importance of Neutrality in the Modern World

Partner of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium - Derya Soysal, a member of the Belgian Institute of Diplomatic World and an independent expert on environmental issues, specializing in the history and geography of Central Asia, spoke on Gold FM radio. She spoke about the importance of Turkmenistan's neutrality, its contribution to strengthening peace in the international arena and the country's initiative to proclaim the International Year of Peace and Trust.

Derya paid special attention to the historical context of the proclamation of permanent neutrality by Turkmenistan, which was announced on December 12, 1995. She noted that the concept of neutrality has become a fundamental part of the country's political culture, contributing to the strengthening of its national identity, the development of diplomatic and economic ties with other states, as well as Turkmenistan's successful participation in the settlement of regional conflicts in the 1990s.
