Samsung begins buying back old smartphones from users without requiring a new device purchase

Samsung has announced the launch of a new program called Galaxy Easy Compensation, which will allow users to sell their old smartphones without being obligated to purchase a new device.

This initiative aims to reduce electronic waste and promote the recycling of old electronics. It represents a significant step towards sustainable development and environmental responsibility.

The program will launch in South Korea on January 14, 2025, and will be gradually rolled out in other countries.

Participation in the program is possible for models ranging from the Galaxy S20 to the Galaxy Z Flip5. Users will be able to assess the condition of their device on the Samsung website and, if they agree with the proposed price, send the phone via courier.

Specialists will verify the device's condition and offer a final price based on its category: "Excellent", "Good", or "Recycling". All operations in South Korea will be carried out by the partner company Likewize. They will handle collection and compensation payments.
