Google Translate launches new language learning feature
17.08.2025 | 18:00 |Google Translate has introduced a new feature called “Practice” that transforms the service into a full-fledged language learning tool. The feature is currently in a closed beta and is available to a limited number of users.
The "Practice" function provides personalized lessons where users can select their proficiency level (from basic to advanced) and various scenarios for practice, such as "Food and Drinks" or "Asking for Directions." The lessons are structured in rounds, and users can adjust the difficulty after each one. The system tracks progress and offers daily tasks to keep users motivated.
The interface for the "Practice" feature is already available in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, but the training itself is currently only offered in French or Spanish. Judging by the "trial period" messages, Google may eventually make this feature a paid service or include it as part of one of its AI subscriptions.
