Turkmen doctors study advanced European experience in oncology and palliative care
13.11.2024 | 02:45 |A delegation of thirteen people from Turkmenistan visited a clinic in Fürstenfeldbruck, Germany, Bavaria. Doctors from Ashgabat held an exchange course with German colleagues under the guidance of Professor Fritz Spelsberg, chief physician of the department of general and visceral surgery, who has been teaching at the university there for more than 15 years and training surgeons in clinics.
Currently, the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Oncology is being built in Ashgabat, where the capabilities of nuclear medicine will be used, a special center for the treatment of breast cancer and a palliative care department will be created. Therefore, the visit was mainly aimed at studying German practices in these areas, both in terms of hardware, technology and qualified personnel, and in the field of interdisciplinary cooperation, especially in caring for cancer patients.
Earlier, the Turkmen delegation visited Milan, Paris, as well as Erlangen in Germany and the Charite Clinic in Berlin, the Grosshadern University Hospital in Munich.
Sending medical delegations abroad to exchange experience with foreign colleagues is an important part of the healthcare development strategy in Turkmenistan. Studying the best medical practices, including in European countries, allows for the introduction of innovative diagnostic and treatment methods, as well as raising the level of professional competencies of doctors. This is especially important in the context of creating new medical institutions of international status in the country.
