Turkmenistan Declares 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust"
28.12.2024 | 03:00 |On Friday, December 27, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council. During the meeting, it was officially announced that 2025 will be held in the country under the motto "International Year of Peace and Trust".
The motto was proposed as part of Turkmenistan's initiative, which received support from the international community. On March 21, 2024, the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution proclaiming 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust. The resolution was co-sponsored by 86 states.
Dunyagozel Gulmanova, Chairperson of the Mejlis, informed the meeting about the results of the work carried out to determine the motto and emblem of the coming year. Based on proposals received from the public, the Mejlis prepared a resolution declaring the coming year the "International Year of Peace and Trust". The emblem of the coming year was also presented.
The President noted that 2025 will be an important year for Turkmenistan, which will widely celebrate the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality. On this occasion, a number of international events are planned in the country and abroad. To coordinate the celebrations, a State Organizing Committee has been created, the management of which is entrusted to the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan.
The President stressed that Turkmenistan will continue to implement the philosophy of peaceful coexistence and dialogue, which is the basis of its foreign policy.
