Sambo athletes from Turkmenistan won two bronze medals on the first day of the World Championship
08.11.2024 | 23:55 |On the first day of the World Sambo Championship, which is held from November 8 to 10 in Astana (Kazakhstan), sportswomen from Turkmenistan won two bronze medals.
About 470 athletes from 80 countries are taking part in this prestigious tournament.
According to the results of the first day of the competition, Turkmen athletes showed themselves in the combat sambo discipline. Zarina Abdyrakhmanova won a bronze medal in the weight category up to 54 kg, and Gulzada Dzhorakulieva won a bronze medal in the category up to 72 kg.
The girls achieved these significant results under the guidance of coach Davud Nuryev.
It should be noted that there are only 31 sets of medals in sport sambo among men and women, in combat sambo among men and women, as well as in blind sambo among men in SVI-1 class (total blind athletes).
