Volleyball players of Turkmenistan won “bronze” at the CAVA-2024 Championship in Tashkent
25.10.2024 | 12:40 |The Turkmenistan volleyball team won a bronze medal at the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) 2024 Championship. The tournament took place in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, from 18 to 24 October.
In the match for third place, the Turkmen national team met the national team of Afghanistan.
Under the leadership of head coach Serdar Tachnazarov, our volleyball players won a convincing victory with the score 3:0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-20).
The gold medal of the championship was won by the volleyball players of Kyrgyzstan, who defeated the hosts of the tournament - the team of Uzbekistan - with a score of 3:0 in the final.
As a result of the tournament, Turkmenistan's player Mithun Gulyyev and Kyrgyzstan's volleyball player Nurislam Medetbek Uulu were recognized as "the best middle blockers" and recieved their awards.
Both volleyball players were also included in the symbolic team of the tournament (“Dream Team”).
Six national teams took part in the competition, and the tournament format was round robin. Turkmen volleyball players defeated the Afghan team in the first round.
