 Google's new smart backpack

Google decided to expand its product list and released a new smart backpack.

A backpack from Google and Samsonite will help users stay connected while away from home without having to constantly check their smartphone.

The Konnect-i Backpack, which starts at $ 200 for the Slim version and $ 220 for the Standard version, is the latest product in the Google Jacquard line.

Google's Advanced Technologies and Projects Division first introduced Project Jacquard at the 2015 Google I/O Developers Conference. The principle of this technology is to turn ordinary fabric into a touch surface that can be used to trigger a number of functions on your smartphone.

The smart cloth is powered by a small tag that charges from a mini-USB port. The tag itself can relay notifications using a built-in LED and a small vibration motor.

The new Samsonite Konnect-i backpack allows users to answer calls, hear text messages, use Google Maps to navigate, take selfies and play music.

With the Jacquard app, users can assign different gestures to the surface of the backpack - swipe up or down on the strap, or double-tap the strap. Each gesture can be assigned its own function.

Samsonite will release the Konnect-i backpack in both Slim and Standard versions, with the only difference that the Slim version has a vertical zip fastener, while the Standard version has a horizontal one. The backpack includes many pockets and a laptop compartment.
