 Turkmenistan Women's Futsal Team Learns Its Opponents for 2025 Asian Cup Qualification

On October 17, the Turkmenistan women's futsal team discovered its opponents in the qualifying stage of the Asian Cup. The draw took place at the headquarters of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and featured 19 teams.

As a result of the draw, the Turkmenistan national team was placed in Group C. In this group, it will compete against the teams from Uzbekistan (hosts), Australia, the Philippines, and Kuwait.

The qualifying matches will be held from January 11 to January 19, 2025, in a centralized format. The two best teams from each group, as well as the team with the best record among the third-place finishers, will advance to the final stage of the tournament. China, as the host country, along with Iran and Japan, finalists of the 2018 tournament, are exempt from the qualifying stage.

The distribution of teams by group is as follows:

Group A: Thailand (hosts), Lebanon, Bahrain, Palestine, Iraq
Group B: Indonesia (hosts), Hong Kong, Pakistan, India, Kyrgyzstan
Group C: Uzbekistan (hosts), TURKMENISTAN, Australia, Philippines, Kuwait
Group D: Vietnam, Taiwan, Macau, Myanmar (hosts)

The Asian Futsal Cup is set to take place in May 2025 in China. In the previous tournaments in 2015 and 2018, the Iranian team emerged as the champion.
