Speaking at a conference to launch the global 5G-A commercial pilot program in Shanghai, Wang Tao noted that by 2030, smartphones with artificial intelligence will account for 90% of the market.

“We will soon see a huge increase in traffic from AI. At the same time, 5G-A networks will be able to provide higher speeds, lower latency and greater capacity to meet the network requirements of the AI ​​era,” Wang Tao said.

Many flagship smartphones from Huawei, Oppo, Samsung, Google and Apple have relatively lightweight AI models built into them to perform specific tasks on the device. To perform more complex tasks, the phone communicates with a cloud server running larger AI models.
