 CIS headquarters hold the Inter-Ministry of Foreign Affairs consultations on information interaction

Inter-MFA consultations on the topic “On the interaction of CIS member states in the information sphere” were held on December 7–8 in the CIS Executive Committee. Representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee took part in the event.

At the meeting, an exchange of views on the forms and specifics of information support for foreign policy and work with the media took place. Contemporary challenges to international information security and issues of developing appropriate concepts and mechanisms were voiced, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reports.

The participants discussed the methods of work of foreign affairs agencies with representatives of national and foreign media, and the features of interaction with foreign and domestic audiences. They touched upon issues of accreditation, status and activities of foreign media.

Special attention at the meeting was paid to improving the efficiency of information support for significant events in the CIS, and the nuances of working with a youth audience. The agenda also included issues of digital diplomacy and the use of new tools in information support of foreign policy.
