Digital “ambassador” started working at the Israeli Foreign Ministry
20.09.2023 | 22:24 |The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has opened its first official “representation” online – a digital avatar. It was created using artificial intelligence technologies and in the image of David Sarangi, the head of the digital diplomacy department and the initiator of the introduction of “virtual ambassadors” into the public diplomatic mission.
According to the press service of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, the avatar will be able to create content in 8 languages in record time to disseminate the point of view of the Israeli Foreign Ministry around the world. "Polyglot" speaks English, French, German, Spanish, Hindi, Italian, Polish and Portuguese.
According to Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, innovation and the use of AI technologies will help keep the ministry's work relevant in a rapidly changing world. In addition, it will increase confidence in the source of information during the period of mass distribution of video creation technologies using artificial intelligence.
New technology developed by Israeli company Hour One allows informational videos to be created at the touch of a button based on messages and texts prepared by professional diplomats. In the near future, many diplomats and ambassadors working in countries with rare and difficult local languages will receive avatars, the press release says.
