The UNESCO Associated Schools Network project includes several schools of Turkmenistan
01.09.2023 | 15:10 |On the Day of Knowledge and Student Youth in the city of Arkadag, a ceremony of awarding international certificates to a number of secondary schools of Turkmenistan, indicating the inclusion of educational institutions in the network of UNESCO Associated Schools, was held.
Dmitry Shlapachenko, the Permanent Coordinator of the United Nations in Turkmenistan, presented certificates to school principals in a solemn ceremony. The participants of the UNESCO Associated Schools project were specialized secondary school No. 140 with in- depth study of foreign languages, exact and natural sciences of the city of Ashgabat, secondary school No. 19 of the Kaahkinsky district of the Ahal region, specialized secondary school No. 21 with in-depth study of natural science subjects of the city of Balkanabat of the Balkan region, specialized secondary school No. 26 with in- depth study English, chemistry and biology of the city of Dashoguz, Dashoguz region, specialized secondary school No. 30 with in-depth study of foreign languages in the city of Turkmenabat, Lebap region, as well as secondary school No. 24 for gifted children in the city of Mary, Mary region.
The UNESCO Associated Schools project was launched in 1953 and unites educational institutions around the world around a common goal – the promotion of peacemaking and humanistic values and the development of fruitful intercultural dialogue.
