China will open the highest mountain museum in the world

The Cultural Center of Shambhala (Shambhala Cultural Museum) will be located in the city of Yading, Daocheng County (Dabpa) of Gardze- Tibetan Autonomous District of Sichuan Province. It is located at an altitude of 3.9 thousand meters, reports globaltimes.cn.
It is expected that the institution will open by the end of September 2023 and will become the highest mountain cultural museum in the world. Its height is 150 meters higher than the height of the Tibetan Museum of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Lhasa.
The museum building has the shape of a shankha shell — one of the eight auspicious symbols of Tibetan Buddhism, meaning blessing and beauty. The structure fits seamlessly into the surrounding landscape of the Yading National Reserve.
The construction of the three-storey museum began on April 25 and should be completed in 150 days. The total area of the building will be about 3 thousand sq. m. 58 cultural exhibits have already been collected for the museum, another 25 are being prepared.
