A floating city with a spaceport may appear in Japan

The Japanese company N-Ark presented the project of an autonomous floating city Dogen City, which will even have a launch and landing pad for space rockets.

A small city with a diameter of 4 km will be designed for 10 thousand permanent residents. Up to 30 thousand foreign tourists will be able to visit it at the same time. The round shape of the city will allow you to withstand severe weather conditions, including tsunamis, which are a private phenomenon in the Land of the Rising Sun.

The city is planned to be built from three separate zones — the main residential area; an underwater data processing center, which will be cooled by the sea and serve the facilities of city administration and medicine. The third zone will include floating structures that are located in a bay inside the ring.

There will be many social facilities in the city — hospitals, parks, a stadium, hotels, sports grounds. Special attention will be paid to health issues. So, its residents will be able to use telemedicine consultations, conduct a high-tech blood test for the prevention of diseases, and will also have access to robotic surgery.

According to calculations carried out by the company, the consumption of fresh water at the floating city will be about 2 million liters per year. The city will produce almost 7 thousand tons of food and generate 22,265 MW of electricity.

There is no information about the place where the city will be built yet. It is only known that its construction will require huge efforts.
