Iranian Athlete Appointed Head Coach of Russian Karate Team
09.11.2019 | 10:37 |36-year-old Iranian numerous world champion Hussein Rouhani has been appointed head coach of the Russian karate team. A contract with him was signed before the end of the 2020 Olympic Games, reports IRNA.

Thus, Ruhani will prepare the Russian karate team for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, where karate will be presented for the first time. Athletes will perform in six weight categories, and two medals will be played in the direction of kata.

Hussein Rouhani has 4 gold and silver and bronze medals at the World Championships, two gold and silver medals at the Asian Games in Doha and Busan, two silver medals at the Asian Championships and a number of awards at prestigious international competitions.

In an interview with the Iranian media, Hussein Rouhani said he was going to Russia this week:
- It will be a great experience for me to lead the Russian team, and I hope that I can cope with this task.
