Not McDonald’s, but… Vkusno - i Tochka, plans to enter the CIS markets

The Russian fast food chain Vkusno - i Tochka is considering selling a franchise and entering new markets in the CIS countries, as well as other foreign countries where McDonald's is not present, Oleg Paroev, Director General of the enterprise, told TASS.

"If we talk about countries where McDonald's is not present, then we are happy to consider them. In particular, we are talking about Uzbekistan and other CIS countries - Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and others," Paroev said. He added that " Vkusno - i Tochka" can also go to foreign countries - where there is no McDonald's. Iran can become one of the largest such markets for public catering and fast food, Paroev emphasized.

He also noted that before entering new markets, during 2023 the Russian enterprise will be engaged in establishing continuous supplies, organizing logistics and other important organizational issues.

The CEO explained that according to the agreement with McDonald’s Corporation, the Russian enterprise Vkusno-i Tochka cannot operate in those markets where McDonald’s is present. The American Bistro brand is present in 119 countries worldwide, according to the 2021 Annual Report.

For reference: "Vkusno - i Tochka" is the leading chain of fast food establishments in Russia, represented in 63 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The company is gradually resuming the work of enterprises throughout the country. Currently, more than 840 outlets of the network out of 850 that were part of the McDonald’s network are open.
