ARETI is the bronze sponsor of the XXVI International Conference "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan"

ARETI International Group (ARETI), one of Turkmenistan's long-time foreign partners in the oil and gas sector, is the bronze sponsor of the XXVI International Conference, "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan," which is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the country's independence.

Known as ITERA prior to 2015, ARETI was founded in 1992 by Russian businessman Igor Makarov. The firm is mainly focused on investing in the oil and gas sectors – including natural gas, crude oil and other oil products, liquefied natural gas and petroleum gas – as well as oil trading, engineering, power supply, manufacturing and delivery of food products.

Today, ARETI, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, includes a few dozen subsidiaries and branches with business interests extending to Turkmenistan, Russia, the CIS and the Baltic countries, the USA, Canada, Western Europe and the Middle East.

For over 25 years, the company has closely cooperated with Turkmenistan in various projects, acting as a connecting link and a partner in their implementation.

ARETI has supplied Turkmen natural gas to consumers in the CIS and the Baltic countries since 1994, beginning its own production and supply from Turkmenistan in 1999. In 2011, ARETI completed the construction of a 198.2 km-long section of the Central Karakuma - Yylanly Compressor Station main gas pipeline. Other construction projects included a sports complex in Turkmenabad with a 10,000-seat stadium, an office building in Ashgabat, and two racecourses with 3,000 seats in Turkmenabad and Balkanabad.

Today, ARETI exports Turkmen natural gas to commercial consumers. And, to support diversification of Turkmen natural gas supplies to foreign markets, ARETI is considering, among other projects, the possibility of participating in the reconstruction of Turkmen gas pipelines.

In 2020, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between ARETI and the state concern Turkmengaz, exploring possibilities of cooperation between the two companies on the Galkynysh giant field development project.

In addition to its commercial interests in Turkmenistan, for over 25 years, ARETI has been an active supporter in promoting the development of professional and amateur cycling in the country.
