Turkish Airlines has cancelled flights to Moscow
28.05.2025 | 15:05 |The airline Turkish Airlines is cancelling a number of departures to Moscow due to previously introduced restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft at airports in central Russia, which has led to changes in the schedules of “Domodedovo”, “Vnukovo”, and “Zhukovsky” airports. This is reported by RIA Novosti, citing the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
“Turkish Airlines is again cancelling flights to Moscow... At airports in central Russia, restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft were again introduced on the night of May 26th. This has caused changes in the schedules of “Domodedovo”, “Vnukovo”, and “Zhukovsky” airports. Up to 60% of flights are arriving off schedule or have been cancelled. This includes disruptions to the regularity of Turkish Airlines flights” the report notes.
Thus, according to the association, several Turkish Airlines flights to Istanbul and Antalya from “Vnukovo” have been cancelled, as well as flights from Istanbul and Antalya to “Domodedovo”, flights of the airline AZAL from Baku to “Domodedovo”, and a Qanot Sharq flight from Tashkent to Domodedovo.
As reported by ATOR, tour operators are currently investigating the situation. They recommend that tourists affected by the schedule disruptions wait for information regarding new departure times.
“Due to technical reasons, in a number of cases, Turkish Airlines indicates a flight cancellation on the information board instead of a delay status. As soon as there is an opportunity to depart, the time and flight number on the board are changed, and the flight is operated. We are receiving all information and making changes to bookings as it becomes available” commented Anna Podgornaya, General Director of the tour operator Pegas Touristik, as quoted in the association's report.
