GENESYS International Corporation Ltd has won an international tender for the implementation of mapping services on the project of the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India.
According to the contract, GENESYS will develop necessary cartographic material, using LIDAR technology.
LIDAR (Light Identification Detection and Ranging) is a technology for obtaining and processing data on remote objects by processing the reflected light signal. The system uses laser as a light source and equipped with GPS receiver.
In cartography, LIDAR provides a high-precision topographic base of the future terrain map in digital format.
