Oriented on making people closer

The planned task for the extraction of natural and associated gas by the enterprises of the fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan was completed in January-October 2022 with an excess of 14.5%, and for gas exports – by more than a quarter, 25.6%, in excess of the established one.

Kazakhstan is ready to increase the volume of imports of Turkmen gas to one and a half billion cubic meters per year. This was stated by Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev at a briefing for media representatives after the negotiations held on Saturday in Akorda.

Taking into account the successful experience of swap deliveries of Turkmen gas to Azerbaijan through Iran, official Tehran is ready to expand the transit of the "blue fuel" from Turkmenistan to neighboring countries.

Officials of Iran and Azerbaijan signed a memorandum of understanding, under which they agreed to double the swap supplies of natural gas under the Turkmenistan-Iran-Azerbaijan scheme, IRNA reports.

Turkey and the EU have discussed gas supplies from Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan to Europe through the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC), RIA Novosti reports citing the Turkish newspaper Milliyet.

1.5 billion cubic meters of gas will be sent from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan via Iran. According to Azerbaijani media, Iranian Oil Minister Javad Ovji said this on the first day of the conference within the framework of the Baku Energy Forum.

The relevance of the implementation of the project for transporting Turkmen gas from Iran to Azerbaijan was emphasized during the talks by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev and Minister of Oil of the Islamic Republic of Iran Javad Ovji.

Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Abbas Badakhshan Zohuri considers it possible that a new cooperation between Iran and Armenia will start in the near future in the form of a gas swap. This is reported by "Armenpress" agency.

Kazakhstan intends to stop exporting its gas and start buying blue fuel from neighboring countries, including Turkmenistan, Kazakh media wrote.

As Europe deals with significant energy price increases, Italy, which imports more than 95% of its energy, sees diversification of gas supplies as a "strategic necessity". Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Manlio Di Stefano, in particular, monitors the energy dossier and Italy's relations with the countries of Central Asia that are major gas producers.
