Oriented on making people closer

Today, with the assistance of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia, it was held an online meeting of Turkmen and Georgian specialists on the study of the medicinal properties of licorice root.

On the Turkmen side, the meeting was participated by representatives of the Turkmendermansenagat Association of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, and the Engineering and Technological University of Turkmenistan named after Oguz Khan, and on the Georgian side – representatives of the Research Center of Agriculture of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, as well as the Agrarian University.

During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on the medicinal properties of licorice root and the active substance in its composition – glycyrrhizin acid.

Licorice has long been used by the people in the treatment of diseases of the upper respiratory tract, and relevant scientific studies have confirmed the therapeutic and preventive effect of medicines from licorice root.

The participants of the video meeting emphasized the importance of further research on the properties of licorice root and expressed their mutual readiness for active cooperation in this direction.
