Turkmenistan and Eswatini formally establish diplomatic relations
06.08.2025 | 12:45 |On August 5, 2025, Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Eswatini formally established diplomatic relations. The signing ceremony took place in Awaza during the 3rd United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC), with the King of Eswatini in attendance.
The protocol was signed by Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and Pholile Shakantu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Eswatini.
This agreement marks a new chapter in cooperation. Turkmenistan sees potential for exchanging expertise in energy, agriculture, and sustainable development. As both nations are members of the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement, a solid foundation exists for collaboration on the international stage.
