Turkmenistan presented initiatives at the Young Leaders Conference in Geneva
24.05.2025 | 00:06 |The international conference "Future We Want – Global Initiative for Young Leaders" organized by the Italian Diplomatic Academy with the support of the UN and in cooperation with the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the United Nations Office at Geneva, served as a platform for the exchange of ideas among young leaders.
At the conference in Geneva, the Turkmen delegation emphasized the particular significance of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's internationally recognized status of permanent neutrality, viewing it as a contribution to the strengthening of global peace, trust, and sustainable development.
Speaking at the forum, the representative of Turkmenistan highlighted the continuity and strategic direction of the country's foreign policy, pursued under the leadership of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Special attention was paid to initiatives reflecting the principles of neutrality, constructive dialogue, and international responsibility.
The significance of the fact that 2025 has been declared the Year of Peace and Trust by the UN at the initiative of Turkmenistan was also noted. In this context, the participation of the Turkmen side in a conference focused on youth leadership acquires symbolic importance.
The Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN in Geneva announced a number of national youth initiatives, including the "Young SDG Ambassadors" program and projects for the development of international youth partnerships, aimed at implementing the Sustainable Development Agenda and expanding interaction among young leaders at the global level.
The Turkmen delegation reaffirmed the country's firm commitment to actively participating in international efforts to build a sustainable, peaceful, and inclusive world, with a particular emphasis on enhancing the role of youth, fostering dialogue, and promoting interstate cooperation.
