Pezeshkian: trade turnover between Iran and Turkmenistan has the potential for multiple increase

At a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, who arrived in Tehran to participate in the Third Caspian Economic Summit, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian noted that "Iran and Turkmenistan have great grounds and opportunities for developing relations, which, if activated, could increase the trade turnover between the two countries several times compared to the current volume".
The Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan, Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, highly appreciated the organization of the Caspian Economic Forum, saying: "We are confident that the results of this forum will be a big step and a leap in the development of relations between the Caspian countries and will be very effective in expanding cooperation for the benefit of the region" ISNA news agency reported.
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan also touched upon the current cooperation and joint projects between the two countries in the energy and transport sectors. He said that Turkmenistan considers the Islamic Republic of Iran not only as its neighbor, but also as its strategic partner and is determined to use the great opportunities that have opened up for the development of cooperation, and also confirmed its commitment to the full implementation of the agreements reached between the two countries.
