The French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs notes that artificial intelligence, the development of which continues to accelerate, is radically changing the societies and economies of countries around the world. This breakthrough technology opens up unprecedented opportunities that can lead to a genuine revolution in key areas such as healthcare, education, employment and innovation. Its rapid introduction also raises serious concerns regarding information credibility, protection of fundamental rights and accessibility. The international community faces the challenge of maintaining balance in our societies and shaping AI based on respect for universal values.

The AI Action Summit aims to jointly define the scientific basis, solutions and standards for more sustainable artificial intelligence at the service of collective progress and public interests. Its participants are making efforts to achieve three main goals. These include ensuring access to independent, reliable and trustworthy AI for the largest number of people; developing resource-saving and more environmentally friendly AI and building effective and inclusive global governance in the field of artificial intelligence.
