Implementing the ideas of the International Year of Peace and Trust: the sphere of education

Speaking at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on February 7, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that the country's current motto "International Year of Peace and Trust" inspires work aimed at further enhancing the authority of independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan, and that it is necessary to work benevolently for its practical implementation. The efforts of state structures and public organizations, diplomatic missions of the country and representatives of culture, science, education and other spheres of activity are aimed at this.

The secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Affairs also contributes to this nationwide cause. The other day, its employees, together with the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, organized an online seminar "International Year of Peace and Trust: cooperation for the benefit of improving the education system". The event was attended by UNESCO departments and clubs of the country, as well as schools that are members of the Network of Associated Schools. The speeches dedicated to the fruitful results of the initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the constant efforts of the President of the country, the policy of neutrality consistently pursued by the country, evoked a lively response from the audience. The event left all participants with a feeling of inspiration and confidence that joint efforts will lead to further strengthening of peace, trust and educational cooperation in the international arena.

Employees of the secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Affairs also coordinate the work on preparing the Turkmen team participating in the «Youth as Researchers» project in Central Asia and developing the theme "Peace and intercultural dialogue". Online trainings for project participants, which give young people from five Central Asian countries the opportunity to participate in research on the most important social and humanitarian topics, are conducted by the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty with its partners. At the two trainings that have already taken place, the guys received basic methodological tools and tasks for the effective implementation of research on the chosen topic. Based on the work carried out, proposals will be prepared, which are planned to be submitted to government bodies to strengthen the voice of young people in solving issues important for the country and the world.
