CIET 2024: New projects, market trends and prospects for cooperation
03.11.2024 | 15:50 |The international conference “Construction, Industry and Energy of Turkmenistan” (CIET 2024) has opened in Ashgabat, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with a multi-sectoral exhibition presenting the investment potential of these key sectors of the economy.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Construction and Architecture, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production, the State Concern “Turkmenhimiya”, the State Agency for Road Construction Management and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan together with the administration of Ashgabat city.
CIET 2024 also brought together 70 foreign and more than 30 Turkmen private companies to discuss current issues in the fields of construction technologies, industrial production, energy, public utilities, urban and rural management, as well as new regional infrastructure projects.
Pre-conference sessions were held in the morning, one on global trends in chemical fertilizer production and the second on “Sustainable Cities and Communities: Youth Perspectives”.
New trends in construction, industry, and the energy sector of Turkmenistan, as well as the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation, were discussed at the plenary session, where new investment projects, including those of international significance, were presented.
The speakers included the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Baymyrat Annamammedov, the Minister of Industry and Construction Production, Toyguly Nurov, the Minister of Finance and Economy, Serdar Jorayev, the Chairman of the Board of Çalık Holding, Ahmet Çalık, and the Chairman of the Board of Rönesans Holding, Erman İlicak, Chairman of Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd Jong Won-ju, as well as representatives of Japanese Mitsubishi Corporation and others.
The conference will continue on Monday, 4 November, with thematic sessions. These sessions will focus on accelerating the monetization and diversification of hydrocarbon resources, with an emphasis on energy, gas chemistry, and fertilizer production, modern trends in architecture and urban planning, with a focus on the smart city Arkadag, the production of building materials, and financing new infrastructure projects.
The conference will also separately address the role of public-private partnerships in the development of industry and the construction of new highways, technological innovations, and the training of qualified personnel. The extensive business program of CIET 2024, in addition to the conference, includes the signing of memorandums and contracts, as well as seminars and roundtables, where both domestic and international experts will introduce participants to modern best practices in areas such as trade, industrial zones, e-commerce, concessions, trust management of transport infrastructure, leasing, and financing.
The conference also includes meetings with heads of national companies and ministries from various sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan.
