Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to France, Maksat Charyev has also been appointed as Ambassador to the Principality of Monaco with residence in Paris. The decree was signed by the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on 31 October and the document was published on the TDH website.

Turkmenistan and Monaco officially established diplomatic relations in August 2015.

Maksat Charyev was appointed as the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to France in July 2022. On 13 October, 2022, he presented his credentials to French President Emmanuel Macron.

He is also the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Ambassador to Portugal.
