 Turkish Airlines places $30 billion order for 220 Airbus aircraft, aiming for sustainability

Turkish Airlines has signed the largest contract in its history with Airbus, valued at approximately $30 billion. Under the contract, Turkish Airlines will purchase 220 aircraft: 150 Airbus A321neo and 70 Airbus A350, including various models. This order will allow the airline to significantly expand and modernize its fleet with a focus on sustainability and efficiency. Turkish Airlines Chairman, Ahmet Bolat, noted that this will also help the company achieve its environmental goals.

According to Airport Haber, this contract holds strategic importance for the development of Turkey’s aviation sector and strengthens its position as a major aviation hub. The order will also contribute to further developing Turkey’s air transportation infrastructure, enhancing passenger services and increasing the share of international flights.

The contract between Turkish Airlines and Airbus is part of the company’s strategy to increase its fleet size to 813 aircraft by 2033.
