The world's first tricuspid folding smartphone is presented
11.09.2024 | 11:46 |Huawei has officially unveiled the world's first tri-fold folding smartphone, the Mate XT.
The smartphone has a flexible display, two hinges and three doors.
One of the hinges folds the Huawei Mate XT outward, while the other folds inward, giving it a Z-shaped design. When fully folded, the left 6.4-inch part of the display acts as the outer screen, and the thickness of the device is 12.8 mm. When unfolded, the thickness of the device is 3.6 mm.
The Huawei Mate XT screen can be partially unfolded into two doors and you get a 7.9-inch diagonal, and when fully opened it reaches 10.2 inches. This is an LTPO OLED matrix with a resolution of 2232 × 3184 pixels. The panel also has an ultra-thin protective coating.
The battery capacity of the new product is 5600 mAh. The device supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.
There are a trio of cameras on the back panel: the main one with a 1/1.56-inch 50-megapixel sensor and an aperture from f/1.4 to f/4.0, a wide 12-megapixel (f/2.2) and a 12-megapixel periscope with 5.5-fold magnification; there is also an 8-megapixel in the through-cut of the left side of the display front—facing for shooting self-portraits and video communication - it can be used when the phone is both folded and unfolded.
Huawei Mate XT supports Bluetooth 5.2, has an IR port, and the software platform is HarmonyOS.
The smartphone comes with a stand case, Huawei FreeBuds 5 headphones, as well as network (66 W) and car (88 V) chargers. Additionally, a folding keyboard is offered.
