On August 26, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dragon Oil, Sayed Al Tayer.

As was noted during the meeting, the fuel and energy sector is one of the main areas of multifaceted cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates.

The head of state emphasized that the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan is developing dynamically today. The strategy in this sector is aimed at meeting the needs of the national economy of the country, as well as increasing its export potential based on the processing of local raw materials.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan and the UAE have accumulated positive experience of cooperation in this area. In the context of successful interaction and taking into account plans for the development of the fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan, the possibilities of expanding the long-term partnership were discussed. Increasing the volumes of oil and gas production and processing, as well as the export of the country's energy resources and finished petrochemical products are among the main tasks facing this important sector of the national economy.

The President noted that the Turkmen side is ready to consider specific proposals from the Arab company for further cooperation. In turn, Sayed Al Tayer, expressing gratitude for the trust placed in Dragon Oil, said that the company will make every effort to worthily fulfill its partnership obligations. This was reported on the evening broadcast of the Turkmen State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company on Monday.
