Oriented on making people closer

A monument to the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly will be erected in Astana, and in Ashgabat - to the Kazakh poet Abay Kunanbayuly. The Consul of Turkmenistan in Aktau Meretdurdy Abdyllaev said this. According to him, the monuments will be installed this year, which is marked by the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly.

Abdyllaev reported this at the international conference “The Spiritual Heritage of Magtymguly – a Symbol of Friendship and Peace,” which was held on Tuesday, April 16, at the Sh. Yessenov University in Aktau.

The conference was attended by local and regional authorities, heads and employees of diplomatic institutions, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, famous historians, poets and writers of the Mangystau region. Representatives of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan, teachers of the IIR of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, and researchers from the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan arrived from Ashgabat to the forum.

During the conference, there were heard reports on the creative heritage of the poet, on his spiritual and ideological aspects, and poems were also read out.

An exhibition of works of art from Turkmenistan was organized. Handicrafts, jewelry and textiles, national clothing, as well as Turkmen carpets were presented.
