According to the MacroPolo report, almost half of the leading developers and researchers in the field of artificial intelligence worldwide are from the Celestial Empire.

Since 2018, over thousands of new undergraduate programs in AI have appeared in the Celestial Empire, more than 300 of them at the most reputable universities.

“Many programs focus on the application of AI in industry and manufacturing, not just generative artificial intelligence,” MacroPolo managing director Damien Ma commented.

“Chinese scientists are driving the cutting edge of artificial intelligence,” Subbarao Kambhampati, a professor and AI researcher at the University of Arizona said.
