Qatar will host the next five FIFA U-17 World Cups
17.03.2024 | 01:09 |Qatar will host the next five FIFA U-17 World Cups starting in 2025, FIFA said on Thursday.
During the same period, Morocco will host the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup from 2025 to 2029.
The two competitions will be held annually, rather than every two years, from 2025 as part of a commitment to the development of youth football.
The FIFA Council also announced that the FIFA U-17 World Cup will be expanded to 48 teams, with its women's counterpart expanding to 24 teams.
“These decisions follow a global call for expressions of interest in hosting both competitions, with a focus on using existing football infrastructure in the interests of efficiency and sustainability of the tournaments,” FIFA said in a statement.
