 Trade between China's Chongqing and Turkmenistan nearly triples

According to Chongqing Customs, trade between the city of Chongqing (Southwest China) and Turkmenistan surged by 193.3% during the first seven months of 2025, reaching 43.9 million yuan, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

Overall, Chongqing's foreign trade with Central Asian countries grew by 90%, marking the highest growth rate among all emerging markets. By comparison, the growth rates for trade with Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa were lower.

Trade Growth by Country

Among the countries in the region, the most significant growth rates were recorded with:

Tajikistan: +319.3% (105.43 million yuan)

Kyrgyzstan: +158.9% (1.09 billion yuan)

Turkmenistan: +193.3% (43.9 million yuan)

Kazakhstan: +70.8% (1.93 billion yuan)

Uzbekistan: +63.3% (899.13 million yuan)

Chongqing is one of China's key industrial hubs and is a national leader in the export of laptops, motorcycles, and mobile phones.
