Oriented on making people closer

The international hockey tournament starts in Ashgabat in two weeks, on April 15. The competition will be held in the capital's Winter Sports Complex until April 20.

Such dates were announced at a meeting of the Turkmen government on Friday, where the head of state signed a resolution allowing the State Committee for Physical Education and Sports to hold an international hockey tournament in the capital.

The tournament is organized “in order to further strengthen friendship and brotherhood, good neighborliness between peoples, popularize physical education and sports, actively promote the principles of a healthy lifestyle in society, widely attract the younger generation to sports, as well as further increase the international sports authority of the country,” the text of the document was read out in the news release of the Turkmen State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
